Domestic and Commercial Skip Hire Sizes

skip hire prices
Get bang for your buck by hiring a skip that’s perfect your job. Don’t waste money on one excessively big skip that is too big for your needs. Choose the skip hire size that meets your needs:

•    Small Skip

This can take the load of around 30-40 bin bags, so can still haul away a substantial amount of rubbish.

•    Medium Skip

50-60 bin bag’s worth of rubbish here for those slightly bigger jobs where a little skip just won’t cut it.

•    Large Skip

Big jobs require big skips, and with 70-80 bin bag’s worth of space, you’ll be able to remove plenty of rubbish.

•    Extra Large Skip

Suitable for major jobs, if you want to discard a lot of bulky waste and are having a massive clear out.

The rules on skip loads

Just because you hire a skip, it doesn’t mean you can fill it to the top with waste. Due to transport laws, overloading skips is a big no no.

Skips can’t be used for all items

Solvents, oil, fridges, tyres, batteries, paint, clinical waste and TVs are just some of the items that cannot be disposed of with skip hire.

Acceptable items for skips

Basically, if you’ve got non-hazardous waste, feel free to put it all in a skip. If you’re not sure, make sure you do some checking before doing any hiring.

Jobs for which skip hire is ideal

Whether you’re clearing out a garage or are having some building work done, so long as your waste is non-hazardous, go ahead and hire a skip.
